Swedish Melting Moments

Subj: Swedish Melting Moments
From: CHRIS FISH 5

I baked these Swedish Melting Moments at Christmas time. These have a nice lemony
flavor and they really do melt in your mouth.

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup plus 1 and 1/2 tablespoons sifted confectioners sugar
1 and 1/4 cups of flour
1/2 cup of cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon orange extract
Citrus Glaze (below)

Cream butter in large bowl. Add confectioners sugar gradually, beating until light and
fluffy. Sift in flour and cornstarch; mix well. Add flavorings and mix well. Chill covered
for one hour. Shape dough into balls (1 inch). Place 3 inches apart on greased cookie
sheet. Flatten each with the bottom of a small glass dipped in water. Bake at 350 degrees
for 10 minutes. Cookies will not brown. Remove to a wire rack CAREFULLY.
Spread glaze evenl over warm cookies. Let stand until cool. Store in airtight container.
HINT: When I frosted mine, I found that sometimes the cookies broke, so I had to thin
out the citrus glaze some.

Citrus glaze: 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon orange juice

Combine sugar, butter lemon juice, and orange juice in bowl. Beat with wire whisk
until smooth.
