Subj: Tortilla Soup
From: Paloma1
Here is one of our favorites. You can make a batch
and re-heat it as needed. However, I
bet there won't be much left to re-heat. Serves 4 (approx.)
     2 tomatoes, chopped
     2 (8oz) cans tomato sauce
     2 cloves garlic, minced
     4 c. water
     2 tbsp. sugar
     3 tsp. chili powder
     2 tsp. salt
     1/2 tsp. oregano
     1 tsp. cumin
1 (4oz) can chopped green chilies, or same amount
of salsa.
2 c. chopped Worthington soy chicken
    Tortilla chips
    Sour cream
    Chopped avocado
Bring all but the last four ingredients to a boil
and simmer 30 minutes. Ladle soup
over individual bowls filled with chips and grated cheese.
Top with a dollop of sour
cream and chopped avocado as desired.
This is a very inexpensive recipe especially if
you leave out the soy chicken. After
you've made it a couple of times it only takes 30-40
minutes to complete and it's great
re-heated.
