  Subject:        Strawberry Pie
Strawberry Pie 

1 deep dish pie crust
1 quart fresh strawberries
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup water
few drops red food coloring
whipped cream

Preheat ove to 400F.  Blind-bake pie shell.  Cool.  Chop one cup of strawberries. 
Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.  Stir in water gradually until smooth.  Add
chopped strawberries.  Cook, over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture
thickens.  Remove from heat, stir in food coloring.  Cool.

Pour 3/4 of the syrup mixture into prepared pie crust.  Arrange remaining strawberries
in crust, reserving 3 for garnish.  Pour remaining syrup over strawberries.  Chill until
firm.  Serve with whipped cream and slice of reserved strawberry.
