Subj: Pull mints
3 cups sugar
2/3 cup water
1 stick real butter
Boil all three in large sauce pan until candy thermometer reaches 264 degrees. Do NOT
stir during appox 30 minutes of boiling.
Pour out on cold marble. Drop 21 drops of oil of peppermint and food color of your
choice. Working quickly fold edges to center and get into long shape that can be lifted
and pulled until medium firm. Form one long rope and cut into bite sizes. Always
helpful to have someone helping you cut. Layer candy inbetween way paper in a tight
tin box and let mature to creamy soft mints in 24 hours.
