Up Quantity
(many, numerous)
The upturned 'S' hands are thrown up, opening into the '5' position, palms up. This may be repeated.
Up Quarrel Both 'D' hands are held with index fingers pointing toward each other. The hands move up and down alternately, each pivoting in turn at the wrist.
Up Quart The 'Q' hand, palm down, shakes slightly.
Up Query The index fingers of both 'D' hands repeatedly curve and straighten out as the hands are alternately flung forward and back, as if firing questions.
Up Question
(question mark)
The right index finger draws a question mark in the air.
Up Quick
(fast, immediately)
The thumbtip of the upright right hand is flicked quickly off the top of the curved right index finger, as if shooting marbles.
Up Quiet
(silence, still)
The index finger is held up against the pursed lips.
Up Quit The index and middle fingers of the right 'H' hand are grasped by the left hand. The right hand pulls out of the left.
Up Quiz
(examination)
The index fingers of both 'D' hands repeatedly curve and straighten out as the hands are alternately flung forward and back, as if firing question.
Up Quotation The curved index and middle fingers of both hands, held palms out, move slightly to either side of the body, as if drawing quotation marks in the air.
